I had a bit of a revelation this week. It was about connection and how it’s the one thing most of us want more of but it can be so elusive some days!
Finding time to carve out space for the day to day tasks can seem like a comedy routine at my house. It goes something like this: I found time to bathe the dog but now I am behind on laundry. The yardwork is finally caught up, but now the house is a mess and someone should definitely go to the grocery store! I bet you can relate. Do you sometimes want to scream, “Stop the bus! I want off! All I really want is some time with the people I love and some connection!”
The best portrait sessions have opportunities for connection. I think most of my clients are hoping for that spark of connection when they book with me. It is always my goal and I am pretty good at making it happen, but I have noticed for some sessions it is easier than others. I think I may have figured out the key, ADVENTURE! (I will come back to this, I promise). Stay with me here!
Let’s say you muster up the courage for a portrait session. You get outfits for everyone, fresh haircuts and you pray. You time naps for that perfect mood or if you have older kids you schedule around band practice, vacation and work. You bribe with ice cream and hope everyone looks at the camera at the same time with a pleasant look on their face. If everyone looks mostly happy you will consider it a win. Not much connection, right?
What if the trip to the local ice cream shop WAS the Portrait Session? What if instead of planning a portrait session, we planned a Family Adventure where connection and smiles occur naturally. What if I told you that we could create a portrait session where YOU get to be present with your family and everyone has a blast?
Want to know a secret? My clients who plan a more adventurous session with me have the most fun, have more authentic smiles and have great memories of their sessions. The amazing artwork on their walls is just the cherry on top!
Introducing – Family Adventure Portrait Sessions!
What does a Family Adventure Portrait Session look like? Well that depends on your family. Maybe it’s a trip around the farm in an ATV to a remote spot, where we have a campfire and make s’mores then star gaze. Maybe we start off with ice cream cones, head to an arcade for some healthy competition and then finish the evening with a walk along the river? What if I were there to capture all that connection and sweetness? This is exactly the type of session I am talking about.
This type of session is perfect for families with small children and babies as well as older childeren and teens. In fact it works great for extended families as well.
Family Adventure sessions will sell for $299 beginning September 1st and it will still be a bargain. But I want the summer to prove my theory and have some more great images to share when I launch this session in full September 1st.
10 7 of these Family Adventure Sessions available this summer. One in June, five in July and four in August. Your session doesn’t have to happen right away, we just need to get you on the books this week to take advantage of this offer. Right now, you can be one of my 10 6 families for just a session fee of $99. In exchange for this low session price, you will agree to pick at least 5 images from your session that I can share on social media or in marketing materials.
If you want to be one of my ten lucky families – just click this EASY button to pay your $99 Session fee and start planning our Adventure.
Maybe you hate buttons (who hates buttons?) You can text me at 304-482-5105. Once you pay your $99 session fee, I will send you the Family Adventure Guide with just seven questions to get us started. When I have your questionnaire in hand, I will contact you to get started planning your portrait Family Adventure Session.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
PS My gal Murray Stewart Jones has her music studio, Jonesbeat Studios up and running – she is accepting students of all ages on voice, piano, drums, guitar and bass! Check her out!
