It’s Spooktacular!

Last night we had the pleasure of welcoming guests to our 9th Annual Halloween Spooktacular Set! We had a few changes this year, mainly our location – we moved to the Parkersburg Art Center, in Parkersburg, WV. It was so nice to have the party and set indoors, we were warm and cozy! The second big change was the use of props from Crown Events! Holy smokes, Keith McClung has got some great props available! His props really helped us create an epic Halloween Set this year!

The Halloween Set started 9 years ago when I decided to build a set on my front porch and photograph ALL my trick or treaters! By the third year, I’d moved the event to the studio – which is a converted 2 car garage with a carport – we’d just throw the garage door open so everyone could watch and have a blast! Our event has grown in popularity each year and the weather has always been a little problematic. One thing that has never changed is the leaves! We always have a metric-butt-ton of leaves. It’s really what makes the set!

For the past 5 years my faithful set building companion has been Ashlie and her family. Ashlie and I take about two days to gather materials and build the set. She and her family always show up to help staff the event and clean up as well. We always do a family portrait for them on the set!

Halloween Portraits are always free, we take donations to raise money for a good cause. This year it’s the Parkersburg Art Center. Last night’s event was amazing, there are still two more chances to have photographs on our spooky set – Friday October 25th from 4-6 past and present members of the Parkersburg Art Center are invited to have portraits taken.

Saturday the 26th from 5-7 everyone is again invited to stop by during the Monster Mash on Market for Halloween Portraits. No appointments needed!

Last but not least, we will be set up as Hot Tomato Pin-Up Academy Saturday evening from 10pm – Midnight doing portraits at the Adelphia! We will be hosting a fun Halloween Party for the adults! Cadillac Lester and Ezra Furman will be performing and there will be some amazing prizes awarded for best costumes! Tuck your trick-or-treaters in at grandma’s house and come out to party with the Hot Tomato’s!

Me with Ashlie and family! Couldn’t do it without them!
