For senior portraits I tend to attract the home-schoolers, the rockers, the poets, the artists and it appears, the blacksmiths. Enter Judah. If I had to describe him in one sentence, I couldn’t. I would just show them this photo:
Judah and I have been orbiting around one another’s lives now for almost five years. For the record, I think he has been roughly this size and has had this much facial hair since the first time I encountered him. I am pretty certain that our portrait session was the first time we have hung out one on one. I have been missing out.
Judah is funny, intelligent, driven and really contradicts any stories you have heard about teens these days….for part of our session his sister-cousin-best friend and fellow badass, Lydia, tagged along, held the reflector and corroborated some of the more ridiculous stories that Judah told. Those two have an unmistakable bond – the kind that only comes with years of friendship, adventures and conversations. It would be hard to tell the story of Judah without mentioning Lydia.
Let’s get to the good stuff.
