Women’s Photography Workshops

**Update 5/26/14 – due to overwhelming response this workshop, plus the second we opened up sold out in 48 hours!  Please contact us to be added to the list for future workshops! Next date will likely be in September!**

I am trying to do more of what I love this year. I love teaching women how to use their cameras better and talking about photography. I am super excited to offer two different photography workshops plus private mentoring and portfolio feedback.

Photography Workshops for Women

Photography Workshops for Women

The first workshop will be titled – “What Does This Button Do?” an intro to learning the creative controls on a camera such as shutter speed, aperture, exposure and shooting on manual and camera/lens choice. There will also be giggling and a high probability of me telling a story that likely should have never been repeated.

The second workshop will be titled, “Simple Studio Lighting and Portraits” an introduction to studio portraits. Learn  DIY studio basics, simple lighting, basic posing and equiptment. There will be giggling and more stories as well as a 90% chance that I will trip over a lighting stand and swear. Not necessarily in that order.

Both workshops will be held on one day at our Belpre, Ohio studio. You are invited to attend one or both workshops. It is not a requirement that you attend the first workshop to attend the second, but we will not be covering the same material and it is expected that you have a basic understanding of how to use your camera on manual to get the most out of the “Simple Studio Lighting and Portraits” workshop.

We will also be offering private mentoring covering topics such as camera basics, photography business, marketing, branding and photography for business owners/bloggers. Mentoring begins at $350 for three hours.

How and when to use your camera on manual.

Do you have a knack or love of photography? Do you often feel like if you just knew a little bit more about your camera you could get better results? Do you need to take better photographs for business or social media use? This three hour workshop will give you a great start! We will cover the following topics, plus more in a super casual all women setting.

Topics we will cover:

  • Camera Choice/Lens Choice/Gear Choice – or why you shouldn’t use lack of equipment as an excuse.
  • How to evaluate your images

We’ll also cover such topics as where to purchase gear, what camera I recommend, what gear I carry and pretty much anything else that comes up.

Cost for this workshop is $60

Will you cover and full frame camera settings? And do you shoot Nikon or Canon?

    • RFP May 22, 2014 at 1:31 pm #

I will cover full frame and cropped sensor. I have shot Nikon since I was 13 but after my fire in 2011 I shot Canon for a summer. I will be able to help regardless of the camera you are using. We would love to have you!
